In keeping with my New Year’s resolution to blog at least once a week, I’m posting today’s entry. And (not in keeping with New Year’s resolutions, but something I’ve always wanted to try) I’m going to be working on a series of historical YA shorts to be published by Echelon later this year.
Although I’m just in the “fleshing out” stage right now, it looks like the MC is going to be a young girl living in 15th century England who becomes entangled in a witchcraft trial against one of her best friends. The main character is a member of the upper class-her father’s the justice of the peace responsible for bringing the alleged witch to justice.
Fifteenth century England’s pretty darn interesting. I’ve just started doing the research, and it’s a lot of fun so far (Henry VII and all that).
Have any of you ever done a historical? If so, what period did you choose and why?
